Six board members were appointed in November, 2007: Jim Baldwin, FM Barron, Deborah Botkin, Steve Corkery, Neel Dickey, and Andrew Strickland. The following officers were elected at the annual meeting on January 19, 2009: Sam Martinez - President, Monika Bubacz - Vice-president, Kerry Oedel - Secretary, and Amy Tarpley - Treasurer.  All board members agreed to serve an additional year.  Send us your news & views, as well as questions, suggestions, and pictures.  We want to hear from you!

Sam Martinez, President.   Sam has quickly become a force on the racing scene, and is an enthusiastic advocate of running.  He puts his knowledge and coaching skills to good use at Macon Tracks speed workout sessions on Tuesday nights.  He recently completed the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon in 2:59.  Contact him with ideas and suggestions for the club or if you'd like to volunteer.

Monika Bubacz, Vice-president.   Monika started running about a year and a half ago and her dedication and perseverance has really paid off.  She just completed her first marathon in 3:53.  She was the only person who ran every race of the Macon Tracks Piedmont Sports Medicine Race Series in 2008, winning 1st overall.  She teaches engineering at Mercer and hails from Poland.  She's a regular at the Tuesday night track workout and makes a great team captain!

Amy Tarpley, Treasurer, pictured here with husband Troy.  We're extremely fortunate to have a professional CPA managing the Macon Tracks finances.  Amy's not only a dedicated running enthusiast and coach, she can fill out tax forms in the blink of an eye!  Contact her to get reimbursed for track club expenses you've incurred and with any other money-related issues.

Steve Corkery, Macon Tracks Board Member and Expert-in-Residence.  Steve has directed countless races, including many years of directing the Macon Labor Day Road Race.  Despite volunteering much of his time to the track club, Boy Scouts, and other organizations, he finds time to run marathons, and can often be seen getting in extra miles in the wee hours of the morning before running the 12-mile Sunday loop run.  Contact him with questions regarding the Al Toll Memorial Race or if you'd like to request his race-timing services.
