Six board members were appointed in November, 2007: Jim Baldwin, FM Barron, Deborah Botkin, Steve Corkery, Neel Dickey, and Andrew Strickland. The following officers were elected at the annual meeting on January 21, 2008: Kerry Oedel - President, Sam Martinez - Vice-president, Kathy Stege - Secretary, and Gwen Wilkes - Treasurer. Sam Martinez, Vice-president.   Sam has quickly become a force on the racing scene, and is an enthusiastic advocate of running.  He puts his knowledge and coaching skills to good use at Macon Tracks speed workout sessions on Tuesday nights.  He ran his first marathon last fall at Chickamauga in 3:11, and won 3rd overall at the Museum of Aviation half-marathon in January.

Steve Corkery, Macon Tracks Board Member and Expert-in-Residence.  Steve has directed countless races, including many years of directing the Macon Labor Day Road Race.  Despite volunteering much of his time to the track club, Boy Scouts, and other organizations, he finds time to run marathons, and can often be seen getting in extra miles in the wee hours of the morning before running the 12-mile Sunday loop run.

Perry Slaughter is an accomplished runner and he is happy to share his expertise.  He's the owner of Run Fit Sports, the place to go to get shoes that suit your running style.   He is head cross-country coach at Wesleyan College.  He sponsors a lot of the local races and was the lead sponsor of the Macon Labor Day Road Race 2007.  Perry is the contact person for the 6 pm Wednesday night Run Fit group run.
