Challenge of the Miles

This program is a great way to motivate yourself to keep up with your training.  It’s simple—just sign up for the number of miles you want to challenge yourself to run this year, keep a log, and at the end of each month, send Elizabeth Jones your totals.  Cross-training, such as hiking, walking, treadmill miles, and elliptical workouts, count too.  Convert the number of minutes of cross-training to the number of miles you could have run during that time.  Kids are welcome to sign up, and prizes will be awarded at the annual meeting in January. 

 

Weight Loss Challenge

We want to hear about and help with your weight loss or weight maintenance resolution for year 2010.  Send your starting weight as of January 2010 and your end of the year goal to Monika at macontracks@cox.net .  If you are interested in our help, we will provide a column in the Macon Tracks Newsletter with advice, weekly e-mail tips, and seminars plus one-on-one meetings with exercise, nutrition, and weight-loss experts. The winners of the Weight Loss Challenge will be recognized at the 2011 MTRC annual meeting.
